Dr. Gupta attended medical school at the State University of New York – Downstate, where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University, after which he was selected to serve as Chief Resident. After the completion of his training, Dr. Gupta served as Associate Residency Program Director for the Categorical and Preliminary Programs in Internal Medicine at Brown. He went on to serve as Residency Program Director and Vice Chair of Education at NYU Lutheran Medical Center. Following his time at NYU Lutheran, Dr. Gupta served as Division Chief of Hospital Medicine and Associate Residency Director at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s – Roosevelt in Manhattan.
Throughout his career, Dr. Gupta has been involved in national organizations such as the Association of Program Directors in Internal Medicine (APDIM) and the American College of Physicians (ACP). He currently serves on the Program Planning Committee for APDIM and has served as an editor for the MKSAP program and a variety of other journals. His interests include medical education research, simulation, medical informatics, and spending time with his wife and three children.
