Dr. Riliwan Adekiigbe completed his undergraduate education in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. While at Cornell, Riliwan worked as an intern at Google. Following graduation, he changed his career path and completed his medical education at American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, Sint Maarten. Dr. Adekiigbe volunteered extensively and co-authored and presented numerous abstracts as a medical student. In his free time, Dr. Adekiigbe likes to Disc Jockey (DJ) , barbering and cooking.
Dr. Nicolas Astras completed his undergraduate education in Biology at SUNY Stony Brook, NY. He went on to earn his B.S. in the Physician Assistant Program at Touro College, and worked as a critical care PA for many years. He completed his Doctor of Osteopathic training at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated with honors. Dr. Astras enjoys vintage car collecting and restoration as well as home improvement projects. He is married and has three children.
Dr. Alexander Belkin completed his undergraduate education in Neuroscience and Biology at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA. He completed his medical education at Saba University School of Medicine, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius. Dr. Belkin has worked as a Medical Writer at the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Rosemont, IL. Dr. Belkin is proficient in English and Russian and enjoys Chess, Trivia, Space Medicine, Film, Literature, Music and Soccer.
Dr. Cruz Portelles completed his medical education at Instituto Superior de Ciencias Medicas of Stgo de Cuba. Following medical school, Dr. Portelles completed training in Critical Care Medicine and served as the chief of critical care at V.I. Lenin General Hospital in Cuba. More recently, Dr. Cruz Portelles participated in research projects and was involved in over 40 clinical trials within the fields of Rheumatology and Immunology. Dr. Cruz Portelles speaks English, Spanish and Spanish Creole. In his free time he enjoys traveling, listening to classical and jazz music and biking.
Dr. Szeya Cheung completed her undergraduate education at Hunter College (CUNY) in New York where she received her B.A. in mathematics. She completed her medical education at Medical University of the Americas (Nevis) Saint Kitts and Nevis. Dr. Cheung has extensive work experience as a Medical Assistant in various specialties and organizations. Dr. Cheung speaks Chinese and English and in her spare time she enjoys traveling, cooking, gardening, painting and sports.
Dr. Fraga Alfonzo completed her medical education at Universidad de Ciencias Medicas de la Habana, Cuba where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. In Cuba, Dr. Alfonso completed residency training in Internal Medicine and served as chief resident. Dr. Fraga Alfonso is currently working at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center as a Cord Blood Bank Collector and works as part of the stem cell transplant research team. Dr. Fraga Alfonso speaks English and Spanish/Spanish Creole. In her free time, she enjoys swimming and reading, visual arts and going to the museum, ballet and theater.
Dr. Jimenez Perez completed his medical education at Universidad de Ciencias Médicas Sancti Spiritus where he graduated with Honors. He subsequently trained in Critical Care Medicine in Cuba. Dr. Jimenez Perez has extensive volunteer and research experience following his immigration to the United States. Dr. Jimenez Perez speaks English and Spanish/Spanish Creole. He enjoys traveling to meet new people and different cultures as well as spending quality time with family and friends.
Dr. Chandana Potaraju completed her undergraduate education at The Ohio State University where she received her B.S. in Finance. She went on to earn a Master’s in Public Health and her M.D. from St. George’s University. Chandana has volunteered extensively throughout her medical training and has spent a significant amount of time advocating for the humane treatment of animals. Dr. Potaraju speaks English and Telugu. In her free time she enjoys working in wildlife conservation and research, playing tennis and basketball, and practicing the violin and piano.
Dr. Gurwinder Sidhu completed her undergraduate education at University of Winnipeg, Manitoba where she earned her B.S. in Biochemistry and Biology. She went on to earn her M.D. at the American University of Antigua. She has extensive research experience and is currently working at LI Community Hospital assisting in the statistical analysis of Quality Improvement Projects throughout the institution. Dr. Sidhu speaks English, French, Gujarati, Hindi, Punjabi, Spanish and Urdu. In her spare time she enjoys reading books, yoga, dance and spending time with her two children.
Dr. Sara Velayati completed her medical education at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences in Iran where she earned her medical degree. She is currently working as a clinical research assistant focused on hepatocellular carcinoma at Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK), New York, NY . Dr. Velayati speaks English and Persian. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling.
